Humbling Across the Caribbean!

This week has been by far the greatest time of my life. I learned so much about Gods love and how selfish I've been about the smallest things in life like air conditioning, technology, and many more.  God has truly humbled me in so many ways! I cant wait to bring all my experiences home and share my love!
Bahamas camp truly has my heart and can't wait to see how much it grows!
Love lots,
Lilly Starr Palafox

I can't sing, but I can WORSHIP!

Throught this week, worshiping has brought me closer to my God. I may not the best singer but I know that doesn't matter because I am WORSHIPING my God!  I learned to have confidence in God as Jesus did because not what I've been given, but because I know my God! We are heading to the airport right now to head home.  I am not sad but rather JOYFUL!! God has let me come to this beautiful island with incredible people.  God is GOOD!

At the Hotel

We have enjoyed an amazing time at the Atlantis Hotel. Kids spent afternoon at the waterpark and then we ate at the Marketplace restaurant at their huge all-you-can-eat buffet. Wow! So much food. Time to hit the sack so we can catch our plane. Sleep well. We will.

This week from two perspectives.

Counselor Kevin: So not sure what the other blogs say, so I'll start of with Monday. We arrived at camp and the power was out, and no showers. Which was scary considering that we started sweating the second we stepped out side. But by the power of GOD, it came on at approximately 11pm. The kids arrived Wednesday and we didn't know what to expect, but we learned through the week that the kids are a ton of fun!! It was an absolute pleasure working with them and seeing what life's like in the bahamas! I'm not sure im ready for this week to be over and it's crazy that it basically is over :'(
The dance party (currently happening) is awesome, the encouragement from the ring of honor is so refreshing, time with the kids literaly brings joy and I am humbled to see all of the Bahamian smiles and joy! Im so grateful that I got the chance to bring "a little taste of heaven" to the Bahamas and am already looking forward to next year! God has blessed me incredibly and I will miss it here! But God has done great things already and will continue to work!

Camper Gabe: This week has been crazy awesome. For one all the bahamian people are so nice and I feel I've gotten more from them than they have from me. Secondly all the americans that came down meshed so well together we were all friends by the second day. Definitely coming back next year! Peace, Gabe.

Pictures are Coming

Hey everyone. Camp is going well.  Had a lot of rain this morning and yet the kids are having a blast. Had to stop uploading pictures. There is no internet at camp and so I am paying for service as we go.  Ran out of money. Will up n load last batchws of pics when we gat to hotel tomorrow. Hope all is well at home. It is a joy to have your child here; you would be very proud of them.  Pray for our last night to be a special and safe one.  Much love Jeff

A learning experience

As is  the last day I will give you the highlights of the week. The first day was Wednesday and it began with campers  arriving and immediately being thrown into the camp culture by learning to master the art of the friendship bracelet. We have also taught them that you are considered weird at Swamp if you DON'T get up and dance at every meal! We were taught a Bahamian style worship song at the singing devotional. Successfully tripped the breaker due to the excessive use of fans and we are slowly but surely teaching our Bahamian friends the D-low shuffle. So over all it has been a week of learning and adjusting for both Bahamians and Americans alike!

It's been great serving with my husband at this year's Bahamas camp. I really enjoyed the time spent meeting needs through food preparation.
