Hey y'all, Abbi Sartain here!!
I just wanted to share about what an amazing time everyone here is having. I've been on both Swamp Corps trips to Jamaica, and all I can say is that I am SO blessed. I started out the beginning of the week as a camper in the oldest girls cabin, or dorm, and I fell in love with all of the girls in there. All of the dorms are pretty small, so it gives you a wonderful chance to get to know individuals on a more personal level. I was, however, feeling a little discouraged about numerous things. Right as I was crying to Sara Fick something amazing happened! Ms.Jennifer Rorabaugh came to tell me that I was going to be a team leader for dorm 3! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! God sends encouragement at the perfect time! If possible, I fell even more in love with the 14-15 year olds in dorm three than I did the girls in dorm six. (If you're reading I STILL LOVE YOU G6!)
I'm so blessed to be able to take care of seven wonderful girls. I am being challenged daily, learning from my mistakes, and having an absolute blast.
I'd like to take this time to thank everyone who has made this possible! I cannot begin to describe the relationships being built between Jamaicans and Americans. Even more so, the relationships with God that are being sparked.
I'm sure I'll walk away with 2438743073 things I should have said, but I'll leave you with the fact that people ate with no hands, boys feeding girls dinner(shoving food in the face), and about twenty love letters. The Jamaican love letters are better than anything I have ever heard in America.
I LOVE YOU ALL!
